It is a beautiful city, surrounded by farmland and pastures and near the Parana River on a quiet plateau some 400-500 meters high. The Ariansa district of Mirandopolis is known as "Toyama Village," and is home to many Takaokans and their desendants. The main industries are dairy, poultry, coffee, and cotton. Mirandopolis and Takaoka celebrated their 30th anniversary as sister cities in 2004.
